Professor Yoav Ben-Shlomo

Professor Yoav Ben-Shlomo is based at the Department of Social Medicine, University of Bristol. He is the coordinator of the biology of ageing work packages (WP6-8) and leads on the ecosocial determinants of ageing (WP5) as well as the role of the HPA axis in ageing (WP8). He is a leading researcher in the area of life course epidemiology both at a conceptual and empirical level. He is involved in running several cohort studies including the Caerphilly Prospective study, the Speedwell cohort, BCG and CHS study. He is also an expert in the epidemiology of neurodegenerative conditions (dementia and Parkinsonian disorders).
