Dr Mike Gardner
Dr Mike Gardner is based at the Department of Social Medicine, University of Bristol and is the post-doctoral fellow employed to work on the Biology of Healthy Ageing WPs6-8 of the HALCyon programme. He has a BSc in Biophysics from the University of York and a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Exeter. Mike’s research background is in Population Genetics and the Biology of Ageing and is now applying his skills and interests in the epidemiology and biology of ageing to the HALCyon programme. WPs6-8 focus on Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal Axis, genetic factors and telomere length and test their associations with capability and wellbeing.
